Apart from an extreme lack of self preservation, your lemmings have no special attributes by default, but by clicking on one of eight icons, you can assign each of them skills allowing them to negotiate there surroundings. The skills available, for those who for some reason have never played the game, include the climber who umm climbs up things, the floater who will jump off things and then use something that resembles an umbrella to float gently to his safety, blacker who stops the lemmings from taking a certain path. The digger, who mines down into the ground, plus a whole lot more.
You will be required to put only a few of these skill into use as the game begins, but as it progresses you will need to use more and more of them to save as many little green hared creatures as possible. The lemmings you can use to do what ever you choose becomes fewer as you progress so It could be an idea to keep hold of your psp firmly and avoid getting to frustrated because you could end up with some modern art on the floor next to a wall that was once a psp.
While lemmings is just as fun as it was, apart from the new feature of designing and sharing levels, virtually nothing has changed since lemmings first popped onto our PC screens many moons ago. Yes there is a new special mode, but despite the name, it’s simply a collection of new levels that aren’t that different from those found in classic. No sine of a two player mode either. This is a faithful conversion of the original game rather than a souped up remake. There is loads to do on it and works well on the psp, but its sad that after so many years there is little that is new here.
